Fashion Resolutions for the New Year

So, its a new year, and everyone is still drunk from all that partying and festive cheer. I pranced to work today, instead of dragging my feet, in a new dress (Zara, SGD29.90 – what a great deal!) and old shoes.

I’d forgotten my good luck bracelet, but the good mood from the hols carried me through the day. Halfway through the day, the sole of my left shoe fell apart and I had to tie it with a rubberband – but I consoled myself with the thought of space in my shoerack, which means new shoes!

So, what is your fashion/beauty resolutions for 2007?

Mine goes something like this:

Dress like a million bucks, every single day

Wear less black, and a lot more colour

      • Think about my outfits beforehand instead of throwing them on in a rush
      • Make better investments e.g. classic cuts, wiser choice of fabric for more mileage, acquire shoes and clothes that differ in colour and cut from what I already have

      Always put on sunblock

        • Use up my toiletries (I have two trayfuls of additional cremes and makeup which I hardly use)

        • And very hopefully – acquire a Chanel 2.55 and a couple more LV items by the end of this year.

P/S: Do share your resolutions with us!

        • get ready 30min before going out instead of 15min so i have time to put on some mascara and eyeliner

          buy more comfortable high heels

wear clothes in the correct size, not one size too big

        • Never buy on impulse unless i am still desiring the item a few days later

          Layer layer layer!

Dress out of the box whenever possible

Experiment with makeup colours instead of sticking to the same ole style daily

        • thanks girls, for the input! Yes I would agree with Ellen’s idea of setting some time aside for makeup – I’ve only just began to do that every morning.

And Eileen’s experimentation idea, too! But never buying on impulse? What if the item gets sold out! That’s my worst fear when it comes to shopping. Guess I haven’t mastered the art of patience.

        • I am going to agree with the Use up my toiletries. When I read this it just occured to me how much hair products, lotions, etc… that i have sitting on my counter top.

        • Those seem like pretty good resolutions to me. i’ve just moved overseas and had to get rid of 90 per cent of my wardrobe before I left. So my resolution is to spend more money on clothes!

I think more vintage shopping and tailoring is also in order. nothing you can’t fix with a needle, thread and imagination.
