Battle of the Street Style Blogs!

Over here at Fashion Nation, we look to the streets for style inspirations – what the real people are wearing is still the most important we feel.

Of course, we still (almost involuntarily) look to the runways for trend-spotting. BUT it is how the various trends are interpreted, mixed-&-matched and re-constructed on the streets that is truly interesting and worthy of attention.

The folks at Street Clash recognizes the rising influence that Street Style blogs have on the fashion world.

According to the creators of Street Clash, the site is “an international style competition between blogs and photographers around the world”. I don’t know about you, but a competition is always exciting for me :)

Apparantly, the winner of Street Clash will then be named best dressed 2007!

This is how it goes: a batch of photos from a pair of cities are shown on the blog and put to the vote (Yeah! People’s Power!) – the city with the most votes for three out five days is then declared the winner for that round and entitled to moving to the next stage of the competition. Two other cities are then picked, and the process starts all over again.

Unfortunately, our resident street style blog, The Clothes Project, has not entered. Or we can see how we fare against the world :)
