Words fail me as I gaze upon this picture - Can I just express my love for globalization? How else is it possible that the Sartorialist and Maggie Cheung crossed paths?

Renown for her amazing style, Maggie Cheung is a successful actress in the Chinese entertainment industry.Years before Zhang Ziyi (or Ziyi Zhang as Hollywood calls her) appeared, Maggie must have made more than fifty movies in Hong Kong.

She was raised in U.K., before winning first runner-up in the Miss Hong Kong pageant during a trip back when she was 19.

Currently, she resides in Paris, and chooses to partake only in roles to her liking. I would say that social appearances can be considered rare, so seeing her on the Sart. really took my breath away!

I’ve been watching her on screen as I grew up, so I have more or less an ingrained liking for her affable screen personality. However, it has to be her up-and-go attitude which impressed me. At the height of her career, she just decided to stop acting and relocate in Paris, then making a conscious decision to choose only roles she wants to be in.

Once again, I have to express my admiration for the Sartorialist’s work. If you have a lot of respect for his work (like I do), catch this short documentary clip on his work here!

Trust me, it is really worth watching, because not only do you get a rare glimpse on how he works, but also his thought process behind his shots. Also, of course, you get to see him approach his subjects, which really tickles me somehow.
