Fall Wardrobe

I have been thinking endlessly about my fall wardrobe - I know there is something wrong with this thought. Firstly, it’s always 30 degrees Celsius in Singapore, so technically we are not seasonal.

Perhaps that is also why someone retorted “There is no such thing as “Fall” in Singapore!” when I wistfully mentioned that I could not stop thinking about what I need for my F/W wardrobe.

I’m still trotting ahead with my shopping list, even though it is mid-Fall and soon it will be Spring! Some of these pictures may be familiar, since this is really a compilation of all the items which has piqued my interest in recent months.

First up, the ever elusive Leather Jacket. This Rick Owens jacket is worn by all the It Girls, including the Olsens of course, but it still manages to exude that hard/soft contrast. I would pair it with floaty, jewel-toned dresses and booties.

Dottie and I have each acquired a pair of booties, but unfortch we do not have pictures. The closest we could find for a picture substitute would have to be this pair of Miss Fred booties from Christian Louboutin.

Of course, a pair of grey ribbed socks must be acquired for Fall. Doesn’t the Prada ad campaign (above) make you feel like throwing on some jeans and rushing out to get a pair too? Find them at Soon Lee, 56 Haji Lane Level 2!

Of course, I am still scouting for the perfect oversized cardigan.

Next, a perfect black skirt. While I already have about twenty black skirts lying in my wardrobe, there is always space for one that has the perfect cut.

After seeing Miss Gala Darling’s outfit of the day some posts back, I made it my personal mission of the week to find a bowtie. A sequinned, squishy one if possible, to put around my neck and look nerdishly cute. So what if it proves to be a difficult task? If push comes to shove I will buy some fabric from spotlight and make a DIY.

Next, the perfect beanie is in store! I have been scouting for a cute knitted beanie, and managed to discover one in the throngs of little stores of Queensway Shopping Centre (#02-39F, near the McDonalds outlet). If you have been scouring for one too, they still carry a green and black one in store. Lovely picture scouted from Miss Fruchtzwerg, whom I notice have really cute daily outfits!

What I love about this season’s must-have pieces is how wearable they are. You will be able to get loads of wear out of them even after Fall/Winter, since these are basically staples (like the cardigan, the jacket, the skirt), or fun pieces (bowtie!).

Just because we live in sunny Singapore doesn’t mean we can’t dress up for Fall, you know!
