From the Spring shows to the magazines, there is a time lag of about half a year. This vexes me sometimes because I find that it is an excruciatingly long wait after the high excitement of the fashion weeks.
Apparently, New York Magazine understands our frustration. It has launched the New York Look Magazine to eliminate this time lag!

According to the press release, New York Look Magazine is “a new, twice-a-year fashion magazine from the editors of New York [magazine]“, which focuses on the bi-annual fashion week season. The latest issue on the news stand seeks to capture “the Spring 2008 collections and the parties, personalities, and drama that defined them”.
Needless to say, the content of the magazine is ultra-fresh. It’s refreshing to have such a detailed report of the whole fashion week shenanigan so soon after its conclusion! Just imagine, Spring trends analysis in November. I call that fashion fast-forward
I especially like how the magazine gives the reader a much clearer idea of what exactly goes on behind the scene during fashion week – the logistics (who sits where), the creative process (where designers get their inspiration), the politics (how late is fashionably late?) and more. It was an eye-opening read for the fashion week novice.

The Fashion Nation writers are very glad to have received a copy in their mail from Jill of New York Magazine
But for those who can’t get their hands on the physical copies, it can be found online at the link posted above.
I think that the photos are especially fabulous!

Hi!
I really love the photos too! There’s are some very lovely black and white ones of the fashion weeks behind-the-scene which are fantastic.
The magazine is completely online, so there’s really no need to be jealous!
You get to see everything that is in the printed copy.
Enjoy!
