Swing Away with Me!

Recently I acquired a Houndstooth swing jacket, and I feel that it will be the first of many to come. For those (like me) who are bored with the standard blazer for work, the swing jacket can bring the fun back into officer cover-ups :)

Ideally, any outer-wear to be wore in Singapore should not be too warm, yet enough to battle the insane air-conditioning in some of our offices. In this department, those among us who are always dreaming of a Fall wardrobe that we can never truly own, have reason to rejoice – many fall pieces have now been adapted for our tropical climate.

Where swing jackets are concerned, I’d found some pretty lovely ones.

For petite girls like myself, a cropped swing jacket may be most flattering (so as not to overwhelmed our small frames). And having it in black makes it infinitely versatile, like this Celine Cropped Swing Jacket:

If you opt for a safe neutral like black, distinguish it with interesting details, like the bracelet sleeves on this Moschino Boucle Swing Jacket:

I personally like poffiness wherever I can have them :)

Somehow, when I think of swing jackets, I think of HUGE buttons – and this Burberry Beanley Swing Jacket certainly has more than enough of them:

While we all can’t do without neutrals, there is nothing which I love more than bright colours – it really does make your day chirpier!

This fuschia Anne Klein New York Crop Swing Jacket, with its clean lines and simple details, is quite perfect for me:

The Peter Pan collar on this Live a Little Suede Swing Jacket is too cute!

If you love prints, there is no reason why your jacket should always be in solid colours. Paired with the right things, printed jackets can still work for work – no more of the very blah black blazer!

This Michael Kors ‘Rococo’ Swing Jacket is undoubtedly classy and refined:

Or toughen up the traditionally feminine swing jacket by getting it in biker-chick leather, as in this Theory ‘Oberon – Polished Leather’ Jacket:

With it raining the entire day for the past week, it really do feel like Fall – so you have a reason to buy that jacket now! :)
