After the Swedish Fashion Show (covered in a previous post), it was a mad, mad rush to get to The Tent on time for the Carlos Miele show – but it was all worth it!
I’m excited to see the Brazilian designer’s signature use of traditional handcrafted techniques. Stephie has also told me before hand that his looks are feminine and sexy – Hedi Klum reportedly loves his designs! Just what I will expect from hot, sultry Brazil!
The show kicked off with a ultra-wearable yellow mini-dress, featuring a floral appliqué skirt. The floral appliqué is to be a major theme of the collection. They add a fancier touch to the wear-and-go day dresses.

And they make the evening gowns even more dramatic.

The dress above has a train that is so long and huge that it spilled over the sides of the runway! I love the glamourous effect that creates, but couldn’t help thinking that the heavy fabric may throw the model off balance and drag her down as well. I have a funny mental picture of that scene… *laugh*
There are also plenty of sleek slinky dresses for those who has a preference for a more subtle wardrobe.

I really heart tissue-soft pleats and ruffles of the cropped cover up in the last photo. A really chic alternative to the boring old shawl.
But what really caught my eye is this dress below:

The colours are amazing and the material looks so unbelievably soft. But it is the rose detail (you can’t really see it in this photo) at the top, near the neck, that I really love. After all, even with larger than life dresses, it is still the small things that matter!
Wishing I’m Tall Enough,
Dottie

I was about to buy a last-minute ticket to the show, but a bout of flu and fever set in all of a sudden! ): everything looks awesome though. the first few gowns with the applique are realllyyy cool. It somehow manages to stay pretty even with all the confusing details. Ah. Anyway my friend and I have been inspired to chronicle our fashion experiences like you guys (and in the future sell our our designs! :X) if you don’t mind we’ll be linking you guys, and we hope you’ll do the same too! (:

Great collection! I love the texture of the floral applique – it gives the dresses so much depth and I love the 3D effect of it. My favourite is the second evening gown – I would love to wear it.

Hi Hanna
I totally agree on the 3D effect! It just makes the dress ‘pop’ don’t you think?
