While I admire all beautiful clothes, I can’t help but be acutely aware that they can be divided into two broad categories: those I can/will wear and those that I can’t/won’t wear. I think that it is important to draw the line somewhere because everyone has to wear their own kind of beautiful. I guess that is the most exciting thing about fashion – to find out who you are from what you choose to put on yourself, and eventually, figure out what works best
Taking into consideration all the shows so far, Alldressedup will have to be the label that I will most like to wear because it is closest to what I am already wearing
Although I’d been working for a good half year now, there’s still a whole chunk of ’student’ in me that has yet to be weened out, so the casual cool and girlie prettiness of Alldressedup really appeals to me.
The best part of the collection will have to be the colours. Even the pastels don’t come across as overly soft and romantic – instead, there is a certain assertiveness simply due to the ways in which the colours are being brought together. I love it when colours which are not usually placed together are put side by side

It is really thrilling to have the opportunity to view the clothes up close because you’ll start to notice all the minute details that make all the difference. For instance, the underside of the skirt with the contrasting colour (I LOVE this), the clever draping at the back of a dress, the almost unnoticeable fold in the sleeve.
Another thing that caught my eye is the generous layering of scarves with fabric knotted necklaces. For some reasons, it looks fabulous and not too busy at all.

It feels nice and fuzzy to know that one of our home grown labels is going places. While we ooo and ahhh over the collections of international designer brands, its good to bear in mind that it is really the local brands which will put Singapore on the fashion map
Needing a skirt with a different coloured underside,
Dottie

Not that I’m not an absolute fan of alldressedup (favourite pieces in wardrobe are from there), but this particular collection was done by Francesca Versace – so it’s not really local per se is it?

Hi Athena
For this particular show, the first part of it was a collection designed by Francesca Versace for Alldressedup, but the second part consists of pieces by Sven Tan. I think we’d showed pictures from both – apologies for neglecting to distinguish between the two.
I wrote that the label is local, not so much the collection. I think that the collaboration with Francesca V, is evidence of how the label is growing
