Musing about Public Hysteria
We’ve taken Fash Hag’s column with good humor, and picked up on her deliberation on the crowning of the latest It bag this season - YSL Muse Two or Gucci Hysteria?

YSL Muse Two

Gucci Hysteria
Paired up with the to-die-for pink patent Gucci lace-ups the combination of the latter is enough to make my heart go a-racing, but the rational Bag Hag in me knows that such a bag is frankly difficult to rock. You know how I need a structured, framed bag and this definitely does not fit either of my criteria.
On the other (slim, perfectly manicured) hand, the YSL Muse Two is just ‘wow’ - soft, supple, and yet structured with just the right bit of flex in its body to make me want to reach out and caress that soft leather… you may now sigh in lustful relief with me as the mental image forms in your work-fatigued mind. Wouldn’t that bag be the best choice to splurge your mid-year bonus on?

P.S. That said and done, for those who are hysteric about the Gucci Hysteria, give some shouts in the comments section for suggestions of outfits to rock it!

I love YSL Muse Two… today I was reading Urban on their bag specials and ogling at Chanel 2.55 - sigh, I hope I earn mega bucks, right now, I can’t justify paying for it!
Cheers

I prefer slouchier bags which I can hug and ‘abuse’ (i.e. throw around) so I’ll have to go with the Gucci Hysteria!
Although there is no way I’m throwing it around if I ever get my hands on it. Another thing - I can never resist patent! LOL

I don’t know, I look at it and just think ‘Hmm… that’s so going to get scratched’…
Or perhaps I should try to subscribe to the ‘true luxury’ theory discussed by dreamecho and Drusilla on dumping it bags around carelessly…

frankly speaking, i love the ysl muse 2. that bag is screaming hot! haha but too bad i can only ogle at these bags online since i’ll never be able to afford one anyway. i was pleasantly surprised that urban did an article on the chanel 2.55 classic considering how its contents are usually on the blah side.
cheers to you guys for having this website, it is a pleasure to read your blog!
oh, and i totally <3 gossip girl. blair wins hands down. and ed westwick is a total hottie.

Hi Audrey, and thanks for your comments.
I basically devoured the 2.55 page of Urban today, it was a really good read!
As for Gossip Girl, new eps are coming out end April. Rather ashamed for loving the good boy but I have to admit I am a Dan fan.

I just got back from Milan, and although I haven’t seen anybody carrying the YSL Muse 2 there (or in Spore), I’ve seen loads of people carrying various versions of the Gucci Hysteria bag.
When the Muse 2 was first released, I was wild about it and dead set on getting one. I passed on the blue version in HongKong, hoping to land the maroon version. But when I went to Milan, somehow the enthusiasm just… died! I guess I have to go with my mum’s comment that although the Muse 2 is a great bag, just like a Birkin, the look is ultimately very ageing for anybody below 30. And if you saw it upfront, there’s just something a wee bit off about the (larger) size… a kind of imbalance? But that’s just my opinion. I might change my mind next year, who knows
The Gucci Hysteria is not my kinda bag, but I can see the appeal in it for others. It just looks more versatile and fun, period.

Gucci for me every time. The YSL bag is boring. In my humble opinion.

PS You can’t beat that patent leather look!

why aren’t the prada striped leather bags on the list? Those are fabulous.

I’m too distracted by the lovely YSL tux jacket to look carefully at the bags, haha.
But that said, the Muse II is more my thing. I’ll be able to pick if I got to touch and examine and squeeze the bag, like a housewife at a market.

Gucci usually doesn’t do it for me, but the slouchy patent bag suits my style better.
Personally I would “rock” it with a floral dress with matching patent leather ankle boots (heeled), simple vertical striped tights (black & clear).

The pink pumps are to die for.

Definitely going with the Muse 2 on this one. Only concern- how easy is it to open and close the bag when your on the run with the handles attached to the flap of the bag- is that an issue for anyone?

the pink gucci boots stole the show for me ><

Definitely the MuseTwo for me! I always have a thing for YSL bag and the MuseTwo is the structured bag that I need after so many seasons of slouchy carry-alls.
