NDEUR: Graphic Designs + Leather Shoes

Customizing limited edition sneakers with graphic designs is nothing new. Often in collaboration with cult names in the graphic art scene, sports brands (most notably Adidas) have churned out highly covetable collectibles and many have clamored to own them. The addition of unique designs and patterns have revolutionized the humble sneakers.

I’d always thought that sneakers and graphic art enjoy a certain affinity - both denote a certain street-cool vibe for me. But what will graphic designs do for the classic pumps? Whatever it is, I’d never imagine they can look this fantastic together:

Parisian artist Mathieu Missiaen, under his company NDEUR, paints graphic designs and patterns onto leather pumps using oil-based paints. His shoes are all hand painted and customized (according to the customer’s requests), and thus completely one of a kind.

Much more than shoes, these are also works of art. The application of the utterly modern graphics onto the vintage leather shoes creates such an incongruous and exciting visual. I love the unconventional and unexpected combination.

When it all boils down, these shoes are simply beautiful. There is just no two ways about it :)

Doodling on your shoes has never been this cool,
