Laidback Sunday

More often than not, I prefer to keep Sundays quiet to prepare myself for the return to work the next day. Or I may have mellowed with age (with my party days mostly behind me), so I prefer weekend brunches, a nice book and cheesy blockbuster reruns on TV to braving the crowd in more exciting locations :D

After hanging out with the Boyfriend in the Heartlands, eating thick toast and drinking tea, I came home to keep my canine soul-mate company :)

Normally, I will not deem a tee and skirt ensemble worthy of an outfit post. But I have just re-discovered this yellow H&M skirt after (literally) digging it out from my wardrobe. I’d bought it in Stuttgart last year for my sister, but she didn’t like it, so it was left unworn.

I chanced upon it yesterday, and decided to give it a go - after all, yellow is supposed to be the hot colour right now. It fits surprising well! :) It is full and puffy, just the way I like my skirts. I was too lazy to think of anything interesting to wear with it, so I just wore it with my favourite ratty black tee.

What I like best is pairing the yellow of the skirt with the electric blue of my new ballet flats.

Tee: Giordano Basic

Skirt: H&M (Stuttgart)

Shoes: Far East Plaza

Owl Necklace: Forever 21

The silvery flash you see beside me is Coco, the doggy love of my life. Here’s a better picture of her:

She’s an Australian Silky Terrier by the way.

P.S. My sister insists that I credit her for helping me take my outfit photos. So yah, she took the one above :P

What do you wear when you’re dressed down?

Laidback sunny fashion is more like it. Spring florals by Diane Von Furstenberg and Graham and Spencer are all the perfect way to indulge your inner flower child while still favoring your very particular fashionista. Sweeping gowns to short shift dresses allow for everyone to find that floral flounce that fits them perfectly. I know I’m up for this blooming trend!

  • H&M Stuttgart :D
    Nice combination, I like it!

love the casualness of your style, it’s something I would wear for the park stroll on a sunday afternoon.

    Kit

  • I love this outfit! I’m a big fan of yellow in the spring and even wrote a post today that included pictures of me in a yellow sundress. Though your sister’s a great photographer, she doesn’t have your eye for clothes. No offense, sister :)

  • to be chic & laidback at the same time has always been a challenge for me…. recently im trying out having a light knitted long sleeve top paired wif either demin or a pair of bermudas… or a cotton shift dress….i quite like GAP for its chic & casual but the price seems nt justifying….im seriously scratching my head for ideas… any saviours??

  • yellow! i don’t think i’ve got a single piece of that in my wardrobe, shall stock up on that soon :D when i’m too kjlaksjdfh^&*#$ to dress up, i’m usually in jeans and tee and some cover-toe flats. so lazzzyyyy

  • I love the owl necklace, so pretty…I have a similar skirt in a stripe pattern which I rarely wear because it’s too short. Must see what a bit of judicious tugging-down can do..

  • i usually don on anything “white” when i m lazy, a blousy white top always works well at least it comes off as sharp and crisp!
