Attack of the Humongous Dresses
After featuring that photo of Blake Lively in that gigantic Dior gown yesterday, I came across this one of Bee Shaffer at the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The dress is Nina Ricci.
These dresses bring the following questions to my mind:
1) How do you sit in a dress like this?
2) What can you hid under such a dress (and how many of said things)? Or rather, what may be hiding under the dress? *laugh*
3) Is it considered a work-out, just by wearing this?
I have many more questions regarding these dresses, but to type them out will just show you how inane I am, so I shall refrain

hahahaha. you remind me of my friend sarah who’ll think up of pretty strange things, when she sees stranger things such as these. i think you can fit a stool in there for her to sit! or maybe a massage chair… after such an arduous journey along the red carpet

I quite like the look of this one actually. difficult questions granted. maybe it is the colour. soothing to the eye and has a grand regal feel to it.

Weren’t there whole plot points in 18th century plays that revolved around people hiding under enormous hoops? I can’t imagine wearing such things now.

How big are the doors of the Met, and how will she go through them? But it’s a fantastic dress, if not exactly thematic.
