Dear Shoes Fairy,

(Photos: TeamSugar)
If I wear these pair of Marc by Marc Jacobs Mouse Ballet Flats, will I have to run from cats?
On a more serious note, I’d been smitten with these mouse ballet flats since I first saw them some time last year. But I have absolutely no hope of affording them.
A while ago, I found a pair that looks almost exactly the same, but the price was a still a little too high to fork out for flats – I know it is strange, but I am generally more willing to pay for heels; the higher they are, the higher my budget.
Perhaps I should attempt a little DIY-ing? I mean, a little felt, plastic stick-on eyes and a few whiskers should do the trick, and I’m sure the craft shop have all these.
Wearing animals in a whole different way,
Dottie

Hurrah to D-I-Y! I wish I had more spare time in hand, juggling two jobs and school is no fun. Boo.

I adore these and I’m kind of on the same page as everyone else–DIY! ^_^
Oh and Lolita is disturbing to say the least… knowing what it’s really about (and this wasn’t my first experience with the film or book) makes me dislike like lolita fashion…

I say DIY too! Though these flats must be REALLY popular if Marc Jacobs keeps bringing them out every year, I first spotted them on fashionologie about two years ago.

They did get marked down 30%, then 40%, then below $200 last year! You might be able to scrounge up a few pairs in odd sizes with a really hard internet search.
The ones he has this season that are printed on the leather like trompe de l’oeil are considerably cheaper – $250.

I did like them until I started spotting many an eBay knock-off….

i’ve also been into these for quite a while, but i’ve always been a bit timid since they demand so much attention. what i love about the nude pair in the picture is that they don’t distract from an entire outfit, but rather simply add a special touch!
