Making Your Own Threads

Bloggers customizing/altering their own clothes is old news. It seems the fashion blogosphere and the DIY movement is intricately interlinked. Successful DIY projects proliferates rapidly, which is fabulous because great ideas are meant to be shared anyway :)

Take this a step forward, and you’d find bloggers who are trying their hands at designing and then making clothes for sale. Looking at the results (both the clothes and the promotional photography), I can hardly believe that these bloggers are not making clothes professionally.

Vain and Vapid’s sample sale is a huge success, selling out before it is even officially launched! Considering what she has came up with, I’m not at all surprised:

I like that striped red and green skirt best. You can still grab it, together with other goodies, at her Etsy store over here.

Closer to home, Rock The Trend launched her very first capsule collection earlier this month. I keep meaning to post about it, but never quite got around to it.

I’m very, very impressed. She did mention that she’ll be doing such collections again, so there’s more where these came from! :) Keep a look out.

Full of admiration for fellow fashion bloggers,
Dottie
