I want to show you Christian Joy’s work. Known to the world as the stylist of Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, let’s see her work on costumes before we move on to her new collection. Here are some of the seriously crazy outfits she’s put people on stage in:
I tell you these are crazy even for my standards, and I have an extremely large threshold for loud outfits. However, if I were a screaming, howling singer of a band, these would be really great as a fashion extension of my music. I mean, how many times can you sing on stage in one lifetime? Might as well do it with a bang (fashion-wise).
So what do you think of her Fall 2008 ready-to-wear collection? I love it. It’s a weird combination of black, fringe, prom, and leather. Kind of what I want to wear when I’m feeling angsty and angry!
But I know you secretly want to put on those stage costumes – so do I!
