It’s Fashion Nation’s second birthday this August, and we will be having a chummy party on Haji Lane. We’ve asked Soon Lee, who has very graciously allowed us to host it in their store space.
Date: 24 August 2008, Sunday
Time: 3pm – 5pm
Venue: Soon Lee (56 Haji Lane)
Theme: Wear that item you never dared to!
We’ll be having pastries, tea, and a lot of fun just meeting all of you.
Since it’s a fashion-related event, while bouncing ideas with Sharon from Soon Lee, we thought it will be really fun to have a theme. The general idea is to pick out that item you always wanted to wear, but didn’t dare to, and turn up.
I have lots of those in my wardrobe… a top hat I’ve always wanted, but never wore! A purple velvet jacket which seems so cool… but so hard to incorporate into a ’sane’ outfit! Lace gloves which caught the attention of lots of folks in public! You get the idea (:
Anyway, wow! Two years! Go way back to Dottie’s first entry on Nylon magazine if you’ve really been reading Fashion Nation for so long, just to reminisce.

Wish I could be there! I’ll only be back on 27 Nov to attend a wedding. You girls have fun and take lots of photos… I would probably wear my high waisted 80s power skirt with lots of pleats with something gold and gaudy. Hahaha.

Have been following your blog for the past 1 year and I love your posts! Yeap, one of those annoynomous people who read and had not left much (any) comments!
But congrats for the 2 year blog! Great work. Will have love to attend the party, but am studying in down-under right now. I would have worn my bright-red floral printed vintage 1970s dress (think: tight and short) which I haven’t had the courage to wear before!

hi Jols – I bought my top hat from Topshop! Somehow I find it really difficult to locate a top hat in Singapore. I don’t think they stock this anymore since I bought it in Apr/May.
