When you surf street style blogs and fashion show coverage, you see these absolutely gorgeous women seem like they are strutting around in towering heels.
You’re thinking ‘OH MY GOD these women are crazy. Do they know no pain?’ while they seem to prance and float around in their It shoes…
Well, the truth is definitely less impressive that it looks, and Bill Cunningham brings it to us via this clip.
He covers street style for the New York Times, and you know you can take his word for it when he says that women are standing around for two to four hours in killer heels (think Rodarte Fall 2008 studded murder weapons), then takes them off and changes into flip flops or flats!

Wow. I love this! I feel so happy knowing those intimidatingly chic women do change into flats as well… like us!
Perhaps we do wear killer shoes like badges of honour, but no reason to really kill our feet in the process I guess 
And those shoes in the photos, are TO DIE FOR.

i can’t help but think that women are all crazy. the lengths they’d go to do don fancy feet-biting footwear which they probably dropped a bomb on. hahaha

am so glad i have nothing to be ashamed about carrying my flip flops or flats with me on days when my killer heels have literally killed my feet

Hi Little Red book. I love those hot pink platform heels in the 2nd photo too!
But I think they should not be too painful. The platform is quite substantial
