S/S09: Limi Feu

Limi Feu is Limi Yamamoto’s collection. Feu means ‘fire’, and this is her second collection, which is shown in Paris. The designer’s pieces are stark, strong, visual, and filled with street attitude. I shy away from comparison to Yohji Yamamoto’s collection, because I don’t see the need to.

I’ve been looking forward to this collection since the start of the season, and I am definitely not disappointed. The Spring/Summer Limi Feu girl is superbly individualistic, highly ignorant of other people’s opinion, and generally cooler than the entire human population.

The cage dresses! Is this a nod to the bloggers?
The additional bullet straps add an interesting twist as well.

These tiered dresses really rock my world. There were tiered dresses in Limi Feu’s F/W08 collection as well, but these are so fun! Definitely a qualifier in my poofy goodness inspiration folder.

Oversized pockets! The last dress is crazy yummy – you can now leave home bag-less with this dress. Or put an A4 folder in the pockets of the trousers in the second outfit.

Exaggerated silhouettes were apparent – billowing pants bordering on clownish really made a statement. It’s funny, though – I find that these exaggerated shapes made the models look much more serious than if they were to put on fitted, sharp pants.

I just really love this collection, and wish I was there to see it in person.

Urgh, Monday again!?

  • The blazers, jackets and vest – greatness!

  • OMG. I am stoked. doubt I have ever come across any blogger who blogs abt Limi Feu. If there is one designer that I follow religiously, it got to be Limi Feu.
Her collections are awesome. And don’t you just love her choice of models? There is always a mixture. Young and old, asians and caucasians.
Now now, this is one designer that hasnt been given enough credit. Kudos to you for posting about her!

  • I have to say the tiered dresses and skirts were utterly amazing. I loved them. I thought the collection was intense and quite diverse but those dresses I really loved.

  • the cage skirts looks similar to my old fashion victorian project back in the late 90s ^_^
