We’ve have been wondering this for some time now, and we thought that Monday will be a great day to post this entry, since everyone’s bored out of their wits:
Who really reads Fashion Nation?
Let us share some anecdotes across the past year – other than bumping into readers in real life while we do our shopping in town or at flea markets, we’ve also had many shout-out comments via Livejournal, where we post our outfit photos from time to time, on our quiet Livejournal account and on Runway City.
Then came Fashion Nation’s second Anniversary party at Soon Lee, where we met up with our readers who ranged from students, to journalists, freelance writers, store owners and of course other local online bloggers.
On and off, we attend media events and get some ‘Oh we know you, we read you!’ comments from the local media. Of course there are also extreme fan-girl moments where we run up to our favourite editors and tell them how much we love their work! (:
We get mail often from people who’ve heard of us via their friends and want to let us know about upcoming events, which we really love because we get to cover it, or at the very least, mention it on our weekly ‘Things to Do this Friday!’ column.
Then came Twitter, where we write our fashion musings or gripes about the Internet, like ‘why is Gmail so slow?!’ or ‘can someone enlighten us on why the 80s is back again?’, and we get to know more readers and international bloggers.
So, now we are wondering, who really reads us? Are you: a student, a writer, a bummer, a beauty queen, a copywriter, an auditor, a Finance Director, a make-up artist, a Country Manager, a marketing executive, a chauffeur, Rockson Tan, an ah-beng, a lawyer, the Prime Minister, a neurosurgeon, a famous blogger, a laptop dancer, a unicorn, or all of the above? (:

I am 关达, (once-student) now cancer patient (and hopefully student-to-be) in Singapore, and I read Fashion Nation!
i’ve been stuck at home the past few months, so Fashion Nation was a god-send, because even though i wasn’t able to wear pretty clothes or go out shopping, i could at least read about it! am completing treatment soon and cannot wait for my hair to grow out – then i can hit the streets without looking so obviously cancery with that bandana/cap!
