Hello! How has your Monday been?
A MSN contact from university has her MSN title as: ‘Mondayphobia is an extremely serious & distressing condition, are you having it now?’, I was nodding furiously to that!
Whether or not your Monday has been a huge firefighting stint or languidly resting at home, enjoying the rain showers this afternoon in Singapore, how about we look at some fun behind the scenes photos for our Manifesto Issue 1 shoot? I realise I haven’t exactly shared them with you yet.
For Manifesto’s first shoot, we wanted it to have the ‘gao gao Singapore essence’ (read: densely packed with the essence of Singapore) in it, as I described it to Dottie. There’s a reason why Singapore is #18 on Monocle’s list of the top 20 most liveable cities in the world. We wanted to make it for anyone who is familiar with life in Singapore, hence the choice of sand playgrounds.

First! Shop for locations! I went on a warm & sunny day tour of the playgrounds in Singapore, meeting a purple elephant & a blue seal.

Also, very very very very very important to find an old school merry-go-round. I am psyched to have included it in the shoot, by the way (:

Next, find amazingly creative people to be part of your team and go for fittings to choose the cutest dresses ever. This one from Dustbunny Vintage didn’t make the cut because it’s white and not so suitable for a rough playground, which is a huge shame.
The shoot date rolls around and whoa! Stressed out about weather and arrangements, will balloons fly away?! Will there be tonnes of kids in the playgrounds?! All these thoughts rolling around in my mind as I head down for the shoot.

Probably the only time I will wear flip-flops: to the pool and in sandy areas! I am pretty anal about recognising the function of every type of shoe ever invented >.<

Laila, who is on my team as well, with Herbert our photographer, having a moment discussing speed of the merry-go-round!

Bubbles! in a wooden train (:

Having fun (:

Pretty balloons which we distributed to kids after the shoot, they loved us:

Kids & Strings of balloons (:
We’re in the process of putting together Manifesto #2, are you looking forward to it?
Lots of smiles to brighten your Monday
Stephie

Mmm, I’m loving that girl’s bob hair.
What I’m thinking of getting done… perhaps Dottie should consider this cut?
Good job with the blog, girls.
