Dior: Starting the Resort Season

With Dior unveiling its Resort 2009 collection, Resort season has officially begun! Actually, I’m still a little confused about exactly when Resort season starts…
The ethnic-inspired pieces in the Dior collection didn’t really appeal to me, but I love, love, love the full, swishy tiered skirts, which is one of the main themes.

What I don’t get [...]

What to Do with Massive Leggings Collection

Last night, at the Anteprima show, we caught a glimpse of the elusive dual-colored leggings in black and white - which drew gasps from first Dottie, next Stephie, then Vogueite in succession. Apparently bloggers notice similar things somewhat. “Two colors!”, “Duals!”, “Ooh!” we individually exclaimed - it was rather comical timing upon recollection now.

These [...]

Singapore Fashion Festival: Francis Cheong

It’s finally Friday - I’ve been looking forward to the Francis Cheong show the entire week. After Tan Yoong’s show, this is the one I have been quietly anticipating, especially since I’ve previously attended Cheong’s show at the Singapore Fashion Week.
I usually play the game of ‘Let’s Spot the Number of Chanel Bags’ if I’m [...]

Singapore Fashion Festival: Thomas Wee

I’m getting really tired out right now - blog-wise we have a lot of activities on our hands, Dottie and I just came back from a birthday dinner (Happy Birthday Annetonio!), but of course my priority right now is to share my thoughts on the Thomas Wee show.
I’m looking to examine his jackets - afterall [...]

JFW: Theatre Products

Some time ago, I’d explained to a male colleague from work that I write for a fashion blog. He went ‘whaaat? But you wear polka dots to work!’, referring to a particular polka-dotted dress I have some kind of sartorial affinity for, because I’d pull it out after a month or two and put it [...]

JFW: Ritsuko Shirahama

Continuous late coverage here on Fashion Nation on Japan Fashion Week - I’m surprised so few bloggers are covering this. Let’s see what I like from Ritsuko Shirahama’s collection:

Structural skirt, mini-bowed cape. Love the textural contrasts which includes the flow of the fabric, diagonals from the cape, swirls from the skirt, topped off with reflective [...]

Japan Fashion Week: Takumi Hatakeyama

(Photos from the JFW site)
We’ve been covering Japan Fashion Week in dribs and drabs, but you’ll be certain to find the chosen designers’ collections pleasing to the eye.
While I find my style straying away from the obviously girly silhouette, it is designs like these that continually pull me back. I’ve perused through Takumi [...]

Japan Fashion Week: Zechia

Designed by Masahiro Nakagawa and Lica, this is their second collection for Zechia and the first time showing in Japan Fashion Week. I find the silhouette’s very inspired by the 1950s and 1960s, and I’m quite interested in the black tulip skirt as shown in the first picture.

Japan FW A/W08: Motonari Ono

I’ll be covering Japan Fashion Week in a belated manner. Let’s take a look at Motonari Ono’s mindblowing structural skirts:

This oversized tux jacket isn’t half bad either:

(Pictures from JFW)
At only 27, he’s fast becoming on one of my gawk-at list of designers. I’ve quite a penchant for structural skirts, and Motonari Ono seems to have [...]

F/W08: Miu Miu

Miu Miu went really off this season - of all things, sportswear?! Granted, every weekend I am a possessed woman, going over and over in my head on what I can wear to the golf course this week. I’ve just taken up the sport, and really it is a major pain in the arse trying [...]
