Re-thinking the Prada Turbans

A year ago, I blogged about the Prada turban. My exact sentiment then was: Hmm, that looks weird to me!
A year later, I’m all for it! Yes, I have to say that the huge poster hanging in the DFS display opposite Far East Plaza featuring the exact same Prada turban has subjected me to some [...]

Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter - Trends for 2007

Before you let the Fall/Winter 2007 trends hit you in the face, perhaps we should backtrack a little and concentrate on key trends we should be wearing now.
Minis

There’s something about minis - denim minis were all the rage on campus, and there should be no reason why it shouldn’t be part of your wardrobe [...]

Chanel Spring Haute Couture 2007 Review

This season’s Chanel haute couture featured neat, clean silhouettes black tights and two-toned shoes. All of which, when paired up with Chanel’s tweed jackets, make for very classy outfits indeed.

I have to say I like all of the outfits - taking into account that Karl Lagerfeld had to work within the Chanel protocol of fitted [...]

Things We Put In Our Hair

I’d always have a penchant for hair accessories because they’re the quickest and simpliest way to vamping up an otherwise uninspiring outfit.
Considering that I’m usually too tired to piece together anything other than the staple, denium-based ensemble, wearing something pretty on the head may be the only way to keep me from becoming a [...]

Cigarette Pants!

I found these pictures of cigarette pants, by Balenciaga and Martin Grant for S/S 07.
These are the perfect work pants currently, because they accentuate your legs, make them look longer, and is absolutely great if you’re always on the go.
The tip is to get these in a shiny material, such as satin, and to [...]

Victor&Rolf - The Tuxedo

I now officially worship at the Victor&Rolf style altar.
I love their heart-motiff theme for their H&M collection. For Spring 2007, they’d stick to their shapes themes - this time, the star!
The starts were sprinkled all over the collection, often manifested as cut-outs on dresses and jackets, adding whimsicality to the otherwise structured pieces.
What I really [...]

Paris Fashion Week - Vivienne Westwood

I declare Vivienne Westwood to be the most creative designer I know. Her S/S07 collection is different from all the fashion week collections, from New York to Paris. Like the Prada collection, Westwood’s latest creations serve to surprise - but unlike Prada, it actually inspires me.

Its the Snow White dress from Disney!

Prada S/S07 - What do You Think?

The S/S07 Prada collection is all about satin, turban wraps, and legs. My impression? Love the satin, okay about the legs - not feeling much about the turban wraps!

I took out some pictures which impressed me, but I didn’t feel much for the long-sleeved, round-necked tops like the above… it just doesn’t excite me, [...]

Milan Fashion Week: And Then There’s One

So the fashion flock has pranced over to Milan after London Fashion Week closed last week.
While Stephie and I can’t wait for Paris to roll around, we are also very eager to see what Milan has to offer
It seems superfluous to go through all the collections that have already shown, since everyone else [...]

London Fashion Week: Ashley Isham

For LFW, the designer I was waiting for was Ashley Isham. Not because I’ve known his work to be fabulous, but because he is a Singaporean - and it is pretty darn amazing for a Singaporean’s collection to go on the international runway.
The press doesn’t heavily focus on him, but I do recall reading an [...]
